APIIDA Mobile Authentication is not affected by the Bluetooth security hole (KNOB)

Gross-Bieberau, August 30, 2019

Security researchers have discovered a serious security hole in the Bluetooth connection. It should be possible to hack Bluetooth devices in a relatively simple way.

Our product APIIDA Mobile Authentication is not affected by this security hole. The detected flaw is in the firmware of the Bluetooth radios and affects Bluetooth basic rate and Enhanced Data Rate connections (BR/EDR). APIIDA Mobile Authentication uses Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) to connect directly to your client-PC and Bluetooth LE is not affected by this gap.

Explore our local 2-Factor Authentication solution and use your smartphone for easily login to your client-PC.
